5 Lessons I Wish I Knew Earlier To Build True Wealth
As we eye the close of 2025, it’s the perfect moment to pause, take a deep breath, and reflect on how far you’ve come. The final months of the year invite us to look at what’s working, what’s shifting, and what we’re truly moving towards in 2026.
For many of us, especially women, wealth isn’t just about money in the bank. It’s about feeling safe, aligned, and confident in how we manage and interact with money.
Here are five lessons I wish I’d known earlier that have completely transformed my relationship with money and the way I define true wealth.
1. Your thoughts shape your money reality
Money carries emotion. The energy we attach to it determines how it flows in and out of our lives. When money is received or spent with gratitude, it expands, Ken Honda calls this happy money. When it’s driven by stress, guilt, or fear, it becomes unhappy money.
The key is awareness. Notice your emotional response when paying a bill or receiving income. Do you feel joy, resentment, or anxiety? Shifting that energy towards appreciation transforms your entire money experience. True wealth begins with the emotions we bring to our financial interactions and bringing curiosity to our money stories.
2. Your body keeps the score
Our relationship with money doesn’t live solely in the mind, it’s also stored in the body. Past experiences of instability, scarcity, or financial stress can leave imprints on our nervous system. When we face money decisions, the body remembers and often reacts with contraction, avoidance, or anxiety.
Learning to regulate your nervous system is an essential part of building wealth. Breathwork, grounding, interacting with pets, or even gentle movement can help create a sense of safety and presence.
When your body feels safe, you can approach money decisions with greater clarity, calm, and confidence.
3. Consistency builds confidence
Marie Forleo says it best:“Success doesn’t come from what you do occasionally, but from what you do consistently.”
Wealth isn’t built through grand gestures; it’s built through small, consistent actions. Setting aside regular savings, paying down debt each month, investing regularly, these actions compound over time and create trust between you and your money.
Consistency builds both financial stability and emotional safety. It signals to your mind and body that you are in control, that your goals are attainable, and that your future is worth investing in.
4. Dreaming big expands what’s possible
For years, I kept my goals small, believing that practicality was safer. But true abundance comes when we stretch beyond our comfort zone and imagine something greater.
When you can visualise your dream life, your version of abundance, you begin to align your actions, energy, and strategy towards it. Whether it’s greater freedom, a thriving business, financial independence, or simply more time for what matters most, vision fuels direction.
Your dreams are not fantasy; they’re a preview of what’s possible when you allow yourself to expand.
5. True wealth exists in the present moment
We often chase abundance in the future, “I’ll feel wealthy when…”, but real wealth lives here, in the present. Gratitude for what you already have creates a powerful energetic foundation for receiving more.
When you take time to acknowledge your progress, celebrate your wins, and appreciate the lessons learned, you anchor into a state of abundance. From this grounded place, financial decisions become clear and intentional rather than reactive. Think of it through a lens of like attracts like – abundance attracts more abundance.
As a 6/2 Projector, I’ve learned that true wealth isn’t built through constant doing, it’s cultivated through clarity, alignment, and wisdom-led action. For female leaders and visionaries, the journey to abundance begins with understanding your energy, regulating your nervous system, and building trust with yourself and your finances.
Wealth is not a destination. It’s a relationship between you, your body, your beliefs, and your vision for an abundant life.
